In another development in South Africa’s widening nuclear procurement saga, Westinghouse Electric Company claims that minutes from a key meeting were omitted from documents handed over by Eskom relating to the controversial award of a tender for replacement steam generators for the Koeberg nuclear power plant. The documents were handed over following a high court order on 27 August. The omitted documents relate to a crucial meeting of the executive procurement committee which is reported to have endorsed French company Areva’s bid.
