WTO leaves only Riyadh in doubt about football piracy issue

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) on 16 June circulated a 125-page report entitled ‘Saudi Arabia – Measures concerning the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights’, giving its opinion on the case brought by Qatar over the piracy of exclusive sports content by a sophisticated Saudi-based operation. Qatar claimed a major victory for its case that Riyadh had “infringed” international trade agreements due to the kingdom’s involvement with the pirate operation beoutQ.
