Upstream Update: Benin, Togo and Ghana hope for more gas

Jubilee field operator Tullow Oil has been obliged to suspend gas production and cut oil output at the Kwame Nkrumah floating production, storage and offloading vessel because of technical issues with its gas compression systems. Tullow said on 20 July that gas export to the Atuabo gas processing plant had been suspended since 3 July, and was expected to resume by mid-August. “Oil production is currently constrained to approximately 65,000 b/d and is under constant review but there is no effect on the field’s reservoir or resources,” Tullow said. Jubilee output averaged 105,000 b/d in H1, and the company said it would review its 2015 production forecast and provide an update on progress at its half yearly results on 29 July. This three-page report provides an overview of upstream activities in Benin, Togo and Ghana. The report contains a map detailing exploration activities in the region. The map is made using eps graphics, meaning there is no loss of resolution as it is enlarged.
