US secretary of state visits Riyadh and Muscat on extensive tour

United States secretary of state Mike Pompeo called in to Riyadh on 19 February during an extensive international tour which also included European and African stops. In Saudi Arabia, he spoke with King Salman Bin Abdelaziz, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, foreign minister Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud (who Pompeo had met in Washington on 12 February) and deputy defence minister Khalid Bin Salman. Topics included Iranian influence in the region, the Yemen war and human rights issues in the kingdom.
