Despite a statement from United Nations special envoy Martin Griffiths to the contrary, and a claim that his appointment had only been temporary, GSN understands that Dutch Major General Patrick Cammaert resigned his post overseeing the Hodeida ceasefire because of clashes and a lack of communication and co-ordination with Griffiths, compounded by the fact that both reported directly to the UN in New York rather than to each other.
