UK/GCC: Oman gains prominence for arms exporters

The value of military and dual-use goods approved for export under special licences issued by the UK to the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members was £521m ($676m) in the first three months of 2017, according to data released by the London government on 18 July. In percentage terms the licences accounted for 26% of the total value of all export licences issued by the UK in Q1 17, highlighting the region’s continued importance to the UK’s arms industry.
