UAE-Fujairah: Hamad Al-Sharqi’s tourism push

Fujairah Ruler Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi opened a new hotel in his emirate in December, the 180-room Fujairah Fairmont. The ceremony was attended by Fujariah Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad and an advisor to the UAE president, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nahyan. The hotel plans to attract 50% of its customers from overseas markets. Fujairah is making a big push to attract tourists and 760,000 visitors stayed in hotels in the emirate in 2016, a 5% rise on 2015.
