UAE removed from EU tax blacklist, Bahrain stays

Efforts by the UAE to be taken off a European Union list of non-co-operative tax jurisdictions have paid off. The UAE was one of eight countries to be removed from the blacklist on 23 January. All have been moved to a separate category of jurisdictions subject to close monitoring, following a fresh assessment of the commitments made by the governments concerned. However, nine jurisdictions remain on the blacklist, including Bahrain
