UAE: Time for pardons

The UAE leadership ordered the release of 1,907 prisoners across the emirates to mark the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. In Abu Dhabi, 803 convicts were freed in the name of federal President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. In Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum ordered 543 to be released.Sharjah Ruler Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi let 117 prisoners go free. In next door Ajman, Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al-Nuaimi oversaw the release of 92 prisoners who had shown good conduct.
