UAE: Norway suspends arms exports

The Oslo government has suspended arms sales to the UAE following a “comprehensive assessment of the situation in Yemen” and the UAE’s military engagement there. A decision was made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 19 December but only announced on 3 January. The decision means that any Category A licences already issued for the export of weapons and ammunition have been suspended and no new licences will be issued.
