The long-delayed opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi on 8 November provided an opportunity for a smattering of royals and other political leaders from the Gulf and beyond to gather in the UAE capital. Among them was Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani and, of course, France’s President Emmanuel Macron. Saudi Arabia sent culture and information minister Awwad Bin Saleh Al-Awwad, while Kuwait was represented by finance minister Anas Al-Saleh.
