Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al-Maktoum chaired a meeting of the emirate’s Executive Council at Dubai Airport’s Terminal 3 on 1 June, in a clear signal the authorities are keen to see the vital tourism and travel sectors restart. Hamdan described Dubai Airport as the “beating heart of the world”, with Emirates Airline the artery. The council reviewed the economic consequences of the coronavirus outbreak on Dubai and proposals to alleviate the damage.
