UAE: Emirates take account of the Iranian factor, Yemen conflict

The Abu Dhabi leadership has taken a much more interventionist position over the UAE’s Northern Emirates, some of which have long-standing commercial relations with Iran. Some in the UAE federal government are believed to be quietly assessing the levels of business being undertaken by these emirates with Iran, with a view to ensuring that they do not become a sanctions target from the White House.Abu Dhabi has form in clamping down on such linkages.
