According to reports first aired in the Israeli press, the existence of a well-established synagogue in Dubai is being disturbed by a split in its congregation. Active for at least ten years, the Dubai Synagogue run by the Jewish Community of the Emirates is located in the Al-Wasl area, although its exact location remains a secret to most. It has served a small but growing Jewish population in the city and has not courted publicity, although last year journalists were invited for a discreet visit.
