Abu Dhabi is emerging as a significant conduit for the expansion of Russian influence in the region. Key areas of security co-operation include Egypt, Libya and Yemen, while the UAE is also co-developing a new jet fighter with Russia. Accompanying MBZ were foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, national security advisor Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and other allies.
