Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) travelled to Kuwait on 30 September for talks with Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and a brief encounter over a meal with Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. It was the latest stage in Kuwaiti efforts to heal the rift within the Gulf Co-operation Council, but there was no breakthrough. Indeed, the visit’s apparent failure has prompted talk that relations between Kuwait and Riyadh have reached a low ebb.
