Central Africa power update: Actis finalises Sonel deal, Cameroon government looks to diversify power generation
Actis has pledged to boost investment in the sector, as the government pushes on with tariff reform and further utility unbundling and envisages a greater role for gas and renewables. This five-page report takes a project-by-project look at the power sector in Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic, featuring entries on projects across the generation mix, plus transmission and distribution projects. The report includes a one-page analysis article and a full-page map showing electricity infrastructure in Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic. Revised June 2014, the map provides an overview of electricity infrastructure in Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic. Actual and planned generation plants are shown by type, including hydroelectric, thermal and solar power. The Cameroon map shows transmission lines ranging from 110kV to 33kV. The map is a pdf file. The images are made using eps graphics, which don't lose resolution as they are enlarged.
