Total closes Anadarko Mozambique acquisition

Total on 30 September announced the closing of its acquisition of Anadarko’s 26.5% operated interest in the Mozambique LNG project for a purchase price of $3.9bn. Total agreed with Occidental Petroleum in May to acquire Anadarko’s assets in Mozambique, Algeria, Ghana and South Africa, and signed a sale and purchase agreement on 3 August. Closing operations are continuing for Algeria, Ghana and South Africa, Total said. The French major takes over as operator of the project, which is scheduled to produce 12.9m t/yr from 2024.
