Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani held talks with Somalia’s President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo in mid-May, in the latest sign of the sustained engagement in the Horn of Africa by competing Gulf states. Farmajo also held separate talks with minister of state for defence affairs Khalid Bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah and foreign affairs minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during his time in Doha.
