Operator Total will spud the Luiperd-1 well on Block 11B/12B in Q2, slightly later than the Q1 date previously reported for the much-anticipated Brulpadda follow-up. Partner Africa Energy Corporation said Odfjell Drilling’s Deepsea Stavanger semi-submersible rig, which also drilled the Brulpadda discovery in February 2019, was currently drilling production wells for Aker BP in the North Sea. After the rig is released, it will spend about two weeks at the Semco Maritime shipyard in Bergen for maintenance and modifications before mobilising to South Africa.
