South Africa: Koeberg valves tender

Eskom is requesting expressions of interest (EoIs) for a pilot programme to design, manufacture and supply nuclear grade valves for Koeberg nuclear power plant. According to the tender document, the programme aims to establish whether there is capability to manufacture valves in South Africa due to difficulty procuring the parts on the international market. Eskom has frequently found that the original international equipment manufacturer has stopped producing the required nuclear grade valves due to changes in technology or alterations to manufacturing facilities.
