South Africa: Deaths at Abengoa site

There have been reports that two people have died and four people are in a critical condition in Upington hospital after a crane overturned at Abengoa’s Khi Solar One concentrated power plant site. There have been injuries previously at the site. A former engineer at Abeinsa, the construction arm of Spanish company Abengoa, who worked at the Khi site and wished to remain anonymous, told African Energy he had heard concerns about unsafe working conditions and insufficient support for workers.
