South Africa: Coal IPP bid window delayed until November

The independent power producer (IPP) office at the Department of Energy (DoE) has decided to push back the deadline for responses to its request for proposals (RfP) for the coal baseload IPP procurement programme a second time to 2 November as potential bidders work to overcome problems with the new process. The deadline has already been moved once, from 8 June to 28 August, in response to requests from bidders, and the DoE says that it has received further appeals for more time.
