On 14 November, Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani hosted Ethiopian prime minister Hailemariam Desalegn for talks and a lunch banquet. Defence co-operation and investment protection agreements were signed. On 16 November, the emir held talks with Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, who was in Doha to attend the 2017 World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE).
