Sex, lies and Algeria

The Algiers rumour mill continues to buzz following the emergence in late May of a sex tape apparently featuring Naftal chief executive Hocine Rizou. He was dismissed from the state petroleum products distributor (some sources say he is merely on leave) after staff were emailed a 20-minute video that, depending which version is believed, was made without Rizou’s knowledge by an aggrieved Naftal employee or by a hired entity looking to undermine him. Naftal trade union boss Lazher Adjroud called it “a manipulation”.
