Issue 408 - 30 Jan 2020 | 1 minute read

Senegal has opened its 2020 licensing round offering 12 blocks, including eight new ultra-deep blocks. When it was announced at Africa Oil Week in Cape Town in November, only ten blocks were included, but data broker TGS said the round launched at the MSGBC Basin Summit & Exhibition in Dakar on 28 January included 12 blocks. Petrosen has added the SLOP-2 and COP-2 blocks, comprising relinquished acreage from the St Louis and Cayar Offshore Profond blocks.
