Senegal: Drilling success for Cairn

Cairn Energy’s VR-1 exploration well has reached a depth of 2,759 metres and intersected a 97-metre gross oil column across multiple reservoirs. Partner Far said operations were continuing to deepen the well and drill into the Aptian carbonate play. The well is the second in a programme of two firm wells and two optional wells launched in January.
