Senegal: ContourGlobal to expand Cap des Biches

ContourGlobal and Senelec have agreed to add 32MW of additional capacity to the 53MW Cap des Biches site in a $55m extension that will increase output by 60%. The extension will comprise two more Wärtsilä 46 engines running on heavy fuel oil.ContourGlobal signed an agreement to redevelop Cap des Biches in August 2014. On 16 December 2015, the US company announced that it had reached financial close with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (Opic) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and completed the first financing disbursement.
