Saudi Arabia: Trump to visit Riyadh on first trip abroad, GCC invited

In a break with recent tradition, US President Donald Trump is to visit Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy and the Vatican on his first overseas trip – his three most recent predecessors have all gone to Canada. The tour will begin later this month and is a further sign of the close ties that Riyadh has managed to forge with the administration.A statement from the White House said Trump would discuss with King Salman Bin Abdelaziz “issues of strategic concern, including efforts to defeat terrorist groups and discredit radical ideologies”.
