Saudi Arabia: Space committee chair
Prince Sultan Bin Salman, appointed chair of the new Saudi Space Commission in late December, has held meetings with his Russian counterparts. In February he received the director general of the Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities and Russia’s presidential envoy for international space cooperation Dr Dmitry Rogozin. Little detail of the meeting was released beyond the SPA’s bland statement that the two sides “reviewed prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of space.” Prince Sultan is due to patronise the new Saudi International Air Show which will take place in March.
