Issue 971 - 07 Jun 2014 | 1 minute read

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has approved a plan to develop 28 tourist sites across the country, according to newspaper reports. An unnamed SCTA official was quoted by the Arab News on 24 May as saying several of the sites would be offered to the private sector. “Some of the prominent destinations are Al-Ogair, Souk Okaz, Al-Jarah and Al-Yazeed Parks, Al-Gahma, Geyal and Sharma,” the official said, going on to name the Al-Taif municipality development project, the Al-Dariya project, Al-Thumama and Riyadh centre, the last three in collaboration with the Al-Riyadh Development Authority.
