Issue 989
- 05 Mar 2015
| 1 minute read
King Salman Bin Abdelaziz dismissed housing minister Shwaish Bin Saud Al-Dhwaihi on 11 March, replacing him with Essam Bin Saad Bin Said, formerly a minister of state. The day before, in his first major speech since taking the throne (see Royals), King Salman had promised to speed up efforts to build new houses for citizens, many of whom are frustrated by a lack of affordable homes. The housing ministry has been accused of corruption and incompetence.
