Saudi Arabia: Mishaal dies after life of wealth & power

One of the oldest and richest members of the Al-Saud, Prince Mishaal Bin Abdelaziz, died in early May at the age of 90. King Salman travelled to Mecca to perform the funeral prayer for his brother at the Grand Mosque. Mishaal was an influential player, in the middle of the last century holding government positions as defence minister under King Saud (1951-56) and Mecca governor (1963-71) under King Faisal; he then spent several decades without an official post before being appointed in 2007 as Allegiance Commission chairman.
