Saudi Arabia: Military fatalities mount up

The Yemen conflict has taken a heavy toll on Saudi Arabia’s military forces, although the number of deaths are perhaps not as high as some might expect, largely due to the way the kingdom has conducted operations. Riyadh has learned from its 2009-10 battle against the Houthis, during which dozens of Saudi troops were killed in a ground offensive. This time, Saudi intervention has been concentrated around the use of air power.
