King Salman Bin Abdelaziz formally inaugurated the new terminal at King Abdelaziz International Airport in Jeddah on 24 September. He was greeted on arrival at the venue by Mecca Region governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Bin Abdulaziz, Jeddah governor Prince Mishaal Bin Majid Bin Abdelaziz and transport minister and General Authority of Civil Aviation chairman Nabeel Bin Mohamed Al-Amudi. The king was given a tour of the building in an electric buggy, before sitting down to press a button to mark the official opening – the terminal has in fact been receiving flights since its soft opening in May last year.
