Saudi Arabia: Job Cuts

Tough budgeting by services and other companies in the oil, petrochemicals and engineering industries means even the best graduates have not received the usual volume of job offers during the summer from the likes of Saudi Aramco, Schlumberger and Halliburton. A source told GSN that Schlumberger had cut jobs and that“if you put a foot wrong, you are out, as they are overstaffed”. Halliburton is not paying interns; some report having to provide laptops and pay for internet use.
