Saudi Arabia: Home-grown drone

King Abdelaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) says it has carried out a successful trial of a new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) called Al-Nawraas. The drone – converted from what had been a manned aircraft – has a flying time of up to 30 hours and is equipped with high-resolution cameras for day and night-time surveillance.At least three of the aircraft have been built and they have been carrying out joint missions according to KACST president Prince Turki Bin Saud Bin Mohammed.
