Saudi Arabia: Crude-to-chemicals plant

Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) are pressing ahead with a plan to develop the world’s largest integrated crude oil-to-chemicals plant, capable of processing up to 400,000 b/d of crude and producing 9m t/yr of chemicals and base oils. They signed a memorandum of understanding on 26 November for front-end engineering and design on the project, with a final investment decision to follow.
