In mid-April, Saudi ambassador to Washington Princess Reema Bint Bandar and her brother, ambassador to the UK Prince Khalid were sworn in before King Salman at the Al-Yamamah Palace. Reema was appointed in March, replacing Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s full brother Khalid who is now deputy defence minister. Reema and Khalid’s father, Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, was a prominent ambassador to Washington between 1983 and 2005 before becoming secretary-general of the National Security Council and then head of the General Intelligence Directorate.
