Saudi Arabia: Al-Amoudi released at last, his empire under pressure

Saudi-Ethiopian billionaire Mohammed Hussein Al-Amoudi has been released by Saudi authorities more than 14 months after first being detained along with scores of other senior political and business figures. As with others held in the November 2017 anti-corruption purge ordered by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdelaziz Al-Saud (MBS), Al-Amoudi seems to have engineered his release in a settlement process involving the transfer of cash and assets.
