Sao Tome: Kosmos plans seismic

Kosmos Energy plans to acquire 13,000km2 of 3D seismic across its São Tomé and Príncipe acreage in Q1 2017, the company’s biggest ever seismic survey. Vice-president exploration Tracey Henderson told Africa Upstream that several people at Kosmos had worked with Triton Energy when it discovered the Ceiba and Okume/Oveng fields in Equatorial Guinea. “We see São Tomé as a play extension to those Equatorial Guinea discoveries. This is a very large position covering roughly 25,000km2, which is equivalent to about 1,110 Gulf of Mexico blocks.
