Chief of the royal court Hamad Bin Abdelaziz Al-Suwailem has been “relieved of his post” as of 13 July, according to a statement on state news agency SPA. Suwailem was only appointed in late April, when Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) relinquished the position. Replacing him for now is Khalid Bin Abdelrahman Al-Essa, who is a minister of state and has been travelling with MBS quite a bit of late, including to Russia and France. He has been named acting chief of the royal court.
