Riyadh and Manama set up bilateral body

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have formed a co-ordination council, in a move that echoes the Saudi-Emirati Co-ordination Council set up in late 2017. It suggests that Riyadh remains intent on developing more bilateral channels to augment or even replace the weakened Gulf Co-operation Council, afterg the Qatar boycott.The new Bahraini-Saudi C-oordination Council was announced on 28 July during a visit by Saudi foreign affairs minister Ibrahim Bin Abdelaziz Al-Assaf.
