Millions of Saudis have been flocking to the Riyadh Season event, in the latest sign of popular endorsement for the liberalising trends pushed by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS). Organised by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), events began on 11 October, across 12 sites in the capital. Local daily the Saudi Gazette reported that 8.7m tickets have been sold. More than 600,000 visitors turned up on the first two nights to be entertained by dancing fountains, sports, musical and theatrical shows, fashion parades and circus events, plus a host of pop-up restaurants.
