Region: Davos proves a draw for Gulf royals

Presidents Trump and Putin and Brexit-ridden UK Prime Minister Theresa May might have stayed away from an event seen to typify the domination of a small, wealthy global elite, but the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland attracted its usual large presence from the Gulf region – although not many of the senior names who have previously identified with the WEF message. More than 150 delegates from the six Gulf Co-operation Council countries were listed as attending the event, around half from the UAE.
