Qatar: Tamim’s diplomacy keeps US on side

Just as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS)’s US tour was drawing to a close in Houston, Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived to promote Qatari interests. His trip began on 6 April with a visit to the US Central Command in Tampa, Florida, followed by meetings with officials in Miami. The real business was in Washington a few days later, where Tamim’s main task was to cement relations with the White House and ensure Doha’s voice is heard in its dispute with the GCC-3 and other issues.
