Qatar: Order approved for helicopter weapons system

Doha is to buy $300m worth of guided rockets for the fleet of AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters being assembled by the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF). In a statement issued on 9 April, the US State Department said it had approved the order for 5,000 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems II Guidance Sections. The deal also includes 5,000 MK66-4 2.75-inch rocket motors, 5,000 high explosive warheads and a range of other components and support services. The main contractor is BAE Systems.
