Qatar: New air base planned for expanded fleet

Amiri Air Force (AAF) deputy commander Major-General (Pilot) Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Malki has said a new base is being set up for Qatar’s rapidly growing fleet of warplanes. In an interview published in a Ministry of Defence magazine on 27 August, Al-Malki said the new base would be developed to house the French Rafale, American F-15 and Eurofighter Typhoon jets that Doha has ordered.
