Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani visited six West African countries in December. The Qatari emir’s whistle-stop tour began in Senegal on 20 December with a meeting with President Macky Sall. The following day was the most hectic of the trip, with first a visit to Mali for a meeting with President Ibrahim Boubaker Keita before moving on to Burkina Faso, where Tamim was received at Ouagadougou airport by President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré and prime minister Paul Kaba Thieba, and then on to Guinea, where he met President Alpha Condé.
