Issue 958
- 14 Nov 2013
| 1 minute read
Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani’s late October Gulf tour (GSN 957/10) was seen as part of efforts to improve relations with immediate neighbours and, in early November, foreign minister Khalid Al-Attiyah made a number of follow-up visits. Since returning to Qatar, the emir has held meetings and delivered an important address to the Advisory Council. On 12 November, he met Total chairman Christophe de Margerie and his delegation; a day earlier, the Azerbaijani minister of emergency situations, Kamaladdin Heydarov, was in town. A few days before that, Emir Sheikh Tamim opened the 42nd session of the Advisory Council and included remarks on sensitive domestic problems such as price inflation.
